Fall of the Temple - Paris Autumn 1307

Letter between Subject Prince Geoffrey to Subject Childeric.

It has come to my attention that the Grand Master of the Order of the Temple, a Jaques de Molay has arrived and taken up residence here in the city. It would appear that all the eggs have been placed into one basket. Nogaret has drafted all the materials; he will be dispatching them soon.

Geoffrey,

Prince of Paris

Extract from BC Chroncile.

There was then in the fields about Paris a great tourney held. Many a knight from across Christendom attended and they did break their lances upon each other’s shields. Many fell and many received a great ransom and were made rich men in their turn, for it is as God wills it to be. King Phillip oversaw the field and it was indeed a noble display of true manly virtue.

Letter between Subject Constance of Reims and Subject Soffredus

Magister,

It would appear that the wayward harpy has flown the nest. I shall investigate the matter, but I feel that more will have to be done. Those who have assisted her flight will have to be found, there is a conspiracy here and I mean to uncover it. You had best be on your guard. No doubt the errant childe will be thirsting for some vengeance; you must do what is required of you.

Letter between Subject Childeric and Subject Nicholas de Marne

Good Sir Nicholas,

Be aware that I have asked the Greek to come by in due course so that he might preform his services upon you. I hope you have steeled yourself for what is to come soon. There can be no errors, it must be all or nothing least we meet our final deaths.

Letter between Guilliam de Nogaret and Prince Geoffrey.

My Lord,

All matter shave now been dispatched and I have heard back from many that the trap is about to be sprung. We shall capture as many as possible but there will always be those who escape the net. I shall set a price of £3 on the head of any that evade our constables.

Guilliame de Nogaret

Letter between Subject Richard of Trois Fontaines and an unknown recipient.

Brother,

I have gained knowledge of a plot against our order. Time is very very short. I suggest that you spirit away all those who must be protected from the lash of the inquisitor. There will be little time for you to gather together your treasures, but you must do the best you can. The King of France, manipulated by the malign Ventrue have turned their love for us into hate and their malice will overthrow our brotherhood. I fear it is too late to stop it and doing so would only result in needless bloodshed of innocents. As such I recommend that you inform your associates and convince them to submit. I can only hope and pray to the Lord our God will deliver us from the fate that awaits us.

Brother Richard of Trois Fontaines.

Geoffrey
Prince of Paris

Extract from the BC Chronicle

The King of France did arrest the Templars upon a charge of heresy, witchcraft and sodomy. Over CC brothers and sergeants were arrested and taken to prison within the city of Paris itself, including the Master Jaques de Molay. All across the Kingdom of France royal troops did enter the houses and properties of Templars and did confiscate their goods and chattels.

Letter between Subject Childeric and Subject Rollo

It has come to my attention noble Sheriff that some individuals, friars of the Dominican Order have arrived in the city accompanied by brethren of the Knights of the Broken Cross of Acre. I have heard rumours of their power and that they have come in contact with our kind in the past. The Cainites of the city must be careful. I do hope you will inform those of our friends who should be made aware lest something unpleasant befall them. I do not know where they have come from, nor how they responded so fast to the news of the fall of the Temple. One must assume that there is a leak somewhere or that they have spies close to us.

Letter between Subject Hanif and Subject Mary

We have a problem. Some of our brethren have been taken into custody with the Templars; they must be liberated lest they draw attentions back here. I am in a mind to seek the assistance of Khalidah, her associates are still on our clan’s debt over certain activities in Cordoba and Tanis some decades ago. If they fail and are caught then other methods will have to be sought. The Ravnos will need a new home.

Hanif

Letter between Subject Hanif and Subject Mary

Set be praised, Khalidah and the others have successfully freed our brethren from the cells of the inquisition. They are to go to Charenton and after some food and rest will take passage into Champagne and from there to the borders with the Empire.
